The TWEAK IT Racing Story
"How did you come up with the brand TWEAK IT?"
The origin of the TWEAK IT stems from Tourette's Syndrome... a neurodevelopmental disorder that has challenged me since I was young. At first, I feared that people would notice the tics and twitches that characterize Tourette's - they often asked why I twitched and some even made fun of me when I was young. Finally, I decided not to let it bother me, and overcame the adversity with humor. My true friends accepted me for who I am and, since the nickname Twitch was already in use, my friends nicknamed me "Tweak"... the rest is history! Overtime, I was determined to develop a riding brand. Naturally, I decided on the name TWEAK IT. Simply because it refers to my challenges with Tourette's and my passion for working or "tweaking" on bikes.. and of course, just getting crazy on the bike when out riding. When I started riding, I really didn't have the chance to get seriously into racing. But my hope is to build the TWEAK IT brand into something for my kids, maybe a race team and.the ability to sponsor other racers to help others achieve their riding dreams! Eventually, I'd like to partner with charities that support Tourette's and other neurodevelopmental disorders. I just want to give back! So, please join the TWEAK IT / TWEAK IT RACING team!
